Shrenik Shah: Do you know you can be a good leader even if your title doesn’t say so?
Shrenik Shah, Patient Ambassador and Moderator of Fridays with Shrenik Live webinar at Indian Cancer Society, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Do you know you can be a good leader even if your title doesn’t say so?
And the secret is hidden in plain sight.
It’s not about authority. Or being the loudest in the room.
It’s about ownership.
A few years ago, I was coaching a senior manager from a Fortune 100 company. He said, ‘But I’m not the decision-maker… I’m just executing what’s given to me.’
I told him: Leadership begins the moment you stop waiting to be asked. You don’t need a title to see a problem and offer a solution. You don’t need permission to uplift your team when they’re feeling burnt out. And you certainly don’t need a designation to bring clarity in the middle of chaos.
Over the years, whether I’ve spoken at TEDx stages or trained future leaders one-on-one, one truth keeps surfacing:
Leadership isn’t assigned. It’s earned – in moments when no one is watching.
Title or not, the real question is: Are you someone others would want to follow?
Curious to hear: What’s one moment when you led without being told to?”
