Markus Kosch: Breast Cancer remains a global health challenge

Markus Kosch, Head Oncology Europe and at Daiichi Sankyo Europe, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Each experience with cancer is unique – I have seen this personally, and also in my role as Head of Oncology at Daiichi Sankyo Europe GmbH. Breast cancer is the most prevalent cancer in women, remains a global health challenge and has a significant toll on patients, their loved ones, and broader society.

Several of my colleagues recently were involved in the creation of a report by The Economist Impact, sponsored by Daiichi Sankyo Europe GmbH, exploring the unmet opportunities in breast cancer care in Europe, and I am proud to highlight the insights it provides.

The report, titled “Advancing breast cancer care in Europe: A roadmap to a women-centric approach”, was co-created by more than 75 breast cancer experts, including healthcare professionals, patient advocacy groups, and think tanks from across Europe. It reveals how a personalised approach to care and early screening can greatly improve clinical outcomes.

Holistic, women-centric breast cancer care allows treatment to be tailored to an individual’s lifestyle and needs, enhancing overall quality of life. At Daiichi Sankyo Europe GmbH, our patient affairs managers regularly meet with patients and nurses to gain valuable insights into the patient experience, such as treatment management, dealing with adverse events, optimal nutrition and well-being in cancer care.

These insights are essential for creating resources that better support women living with breast cancer, as well as the healthcare professionals who care for them.

I invite you to read the full report below and learn more about how personalised approaches are shaping the future of breast cancer care.”
