Alexey Kulikov: The Second General Meeting of the GCM/NCD

Alexey Kulikov, Head of Partnerships and Operations, Deputy Head of Secretariat for the UN NCD Task Force, and an External Relations Officer at WHO, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“The Second General Meeting of the Global Coordination Mechanism on Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) will convene Civil Society Actors and partners to put forward recommendations on accelerating multisectoral and multistakeholder responses to NCDs and mental health conditions.

The event marks one of several major milestones on the road to 2025 and the Fourth High-level Meeting of the United Nations General Assembly on NCDs.

The Meeting will take place on 24 and 25 April 2025 at World Health Organization Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.”

Alexey Kulikov is the Head of Partnerships and Operations, Deputy Head of Secretariat for the UN NCD Task Force, and an External Relations Officer at the World Health Organization (WHO). Previously, he worked at the WHO Office to the United Nations in New York, contributing to the success of the second high-level meeting on NCDs in 2014.

As a health attaché and European coordinator in Geneva, Alexey played a key role in shaping global health policies for NCDs and mental health, including the 2011 UN political declaration on NCDs and the creation of the Task Force. He has published in peer-reviewed journals and is the lead author of several country-specific NCD and mental health investment cases.
