Arif Kamal: Ensuring all people have access to the cancer navigation services that will help them live more and better days
Arif Kamal shared on LinkedIn:
“During a time of year when we think about family and reflect on our work, I am fond of this particular photo.
Alongside my family in the East Room of the White House is John Scanlon from the Office of the First Lady.
As Dr. Jill Biden has been a staunch supporter of the Biden Cancer Moonshot, so has John and his tireless work with American Cancer Society and American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network ACS CAN to ensure that all people have access to the cancer navigation services that will help them live more and better days.
The First Lady has been to more cancer navigation events in the last four years than any administration official ever, and that is largely because of the support of friends like John in her office who prioritize such initiatives.”
Arif Kamal is the first-ever Chief Patient Officer for the American Cancer Society and drives efforts to advance cancer care. With experience at Duke University and the Duke Cancer Institute, he is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Population Health.
He is also a Co-Founder of Prepped Health. Dr. Kamal’s expertise lies in oncology quality assessment, palliative care, and innovative technology solutions for patient engagement.
