Layth Mula-Hussain: Seven days in the Middle East
Layth Mula-Hussain, Radiation Oncologist and Assistant Professor at Dalhousie University, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Seven days in the Middle East.
It was a fruitful and enjoyable trip, but tiring and arduous. I arrived from the West of the Earth, Canada, after an absence from these places that I love for about 15 months, during which I moved from Erbil, Mosul, Riyadh, Basra, and then Baghdad, then returned to my work and residence in Canada.
The hours passed by surprisingly quickly, but they were full of meetings and benefits. The most important of which was meeting my honorable mother (may God protect her) and the rest of my family, loved ones, and colleagues.
The trip also included my participation in the activities of the Mosul College of Medicine as a visiting professor and giving a lecture on radiation oncology for non-radiation oncologists at Ibn Sina Teaching Hospital, and attending the silver jubilee of Mosul Medical School graduates in 1999 in the city of Mosul.
As for Riyadh, I was assigned to chair one of the sessions of the third conference of the Middle East Society of Oncology and Radiotherapy (MESTRO), and in Basra, the meeting was renewed with the annual conference of the Iraqi Society of Clinical Oncology (ISCO) with two posters and an oral presentation of a research from the (ESMO) conference.”
