Mark Lawler: Exploring collaborative opportunities with UCD Research

Mark Lawler, Associate Director of Postgraduate Studies at Queen’s University Belfast, Centre for Cancer Research and Cell Biology, shared a post by UCD Research on X, adding:

Great day yesterday in University College Dublin with delegation from Roswell Park highlighting our joint all-island cancer activities and exploring collaborative opportunities with the US’s first cancer research institute – founded in 1898.”

UCD was delighted to welcome Ambassador Claire Cronin, US Congressman Tim Kennedy & Prof Renier Brentjens, Deputy Director of  Roswell Park Cancer Centre NY, to campus today!

Meeting with UCD President Prof Orla Feely, UCD VPRII Prof Kate Robson Brown and cancer researchers and clinicians, they discussed the importance of US-Ireland connections in advancing cancer research and care, and the impact that the All Ireland Cancer Research Institute All-Island Cancer Research Institute (AICRI) Gallagher University College Dublin & Prof Mark Lawler Queen’s University Belfast – has had to date.”

Dr. Mark Lawler is the Chair in Translational Cancer Genomics and the Associate Director of Postgraduate Studies at Queen’s University Belfast, Centre for Cancer Research and Cell Biology. He is also a Visiting Professor in Human Genetics and Molecular Medicine at the University of Chieti Pescara, Italy. His specialties include genetics, molecular medicine, cancer biology, drug discovery, graduate education, bioethics, science policy, art therapy, and public perception of science.
