Akash Maniam: Why disparity research matters
Akash Maniam, Medical Oncologist of Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“This is exactly why disparity research matters. The most vulnerable often bear the highest brunt of cancer mortality.
Important work showing more aggressive breast cancer biology in those living in disadvantaged neighbourhoods – chronic stress and nutritional deficiencies among the underlying factors.
Until we bridge these equity gaps, we haven’t done enough.”
