Joshua Omale: Addressing Disparities in Cancer Care in Africa

“It was a great time earlier today at the African Cancer CEO’s Forum webinar under the theme ‘Addressing Disparities in Cancer Care in Africa’ organized by the National Institute for Cancer Research and Treatment with support from MEDICAID CANCER FOUNDATION, Project PINK BLUE, KILELE Health, Breast Without Spot, OncoDaily, and Nigeria Health Watch.
No doubt, it was an engaging and enlightening session with a lineup of distinguished speakers like Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu, Runcie C.W. Chidebe, Wil Ngwa, Nazik Hammad, and Usman Aliyu among others – all shedding light on critical issues aimed at bridging the gap in cancer care across our dear continent.
The discussions centered around the urgent need for equitable access to cancer treatment as well as innovative solutions tailored to low-resource settings. As someone deeply committed to cancer advocacy through the Campus Cancer Awareness Initiative Nigeria (CCAIN), I am encouraged to see these efforts advancing in Africa.
Now more than ever, we must unite our resources, knowledge, and advocacy to ensure no one on the African Continent is left behind in the fight against cancer.”
