“New findings from researchers, including 2022 William B. Coley Award recipient Dr. Judy Lieberman of Boston Children’s Hospital, indicate that tumors edit multiple genes to avoid recognition by the immune system. Published in Springer Nature Group’s Nature Immunology, the study additionally demonstrates a way to override these edits, by curbing tumor growth in a human-like mouse model of breast cancer, ‘which is notoriously resistant to immunotherapy.’ Discover how this study could provide a roadmap for designing better immunotherapies.”
