“I’m pleased to share details of the new clinical research funding scheme that Cancer Research UK Science and Innovation is launching in September.
Following consultation with the research community, we’ve developed a more flexible and scalable funding scheme that will allow researchers to do the research they want to do. The single clinical research scheme will have three interconnected modules: clinical trials, experimental medicine and sample collection.
In our research strategy, we detailed the charity’s ambition to support more high-quality clinical research while enhancing our understanding of biological mechanisms. We believe this can best be achieved through this new funding scheme and hope it will encourage applicants to be bold and innovative.
