What is the IASLC stand for?
The International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) is a global, multidisciplinary organization committed to the eradication of all forms of lung cancer. IASLC 50th Anniversary Celebration will take place from 20:00-23:00 PDT on Sunday, September 8
In 1974, Drs. David T. Carr, Oleg S. Selawry, Lawrence Broder, Clifton Mountain, and George Higgins brought together over 250 founding members from across the globe to establish the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer. Their efforts culminated in the inaugural meeting of the IASLC, held in Florence, Italy.
The IASLC’s initiatives have a worldwide reach, promoting international collaboration and sharing advancements across different regions. This global perspective ensures that the latest developments in lung cancer treatment and care are accessible to healthcare professionals and patients around the world.
The World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) 2024, scheduled from September 7 to September 10, 2024, represents a continuation of the IASLC’s mission to enhance lung cancer care and research.
