Thanks to the continued funding from Anya’s Wish we are closer to a cure for sarcoma – Children’s Cancer Institute
Children’s Cancer Institute shared on LinkedIn:
“Thanks to the funds raised by Anya’s Wish, established in memory of Anya Zuber who tragically passed away from osteosarcoma in 2020 at age 19, researchers at Children’s Cancer Institute have made great progress in understanding sarcoma and most recently have discovered a drug that could be successful in combatting difficult-to-treat sarcomas.
July is Sarcoma Awareness Month – a time where we honour all the precious lives that have been impacted by this cruel disease.
Each year in Australia 90 children and adolescents are diagnosed with sarcoma, and the rate of survival for those with high-risk disease is still only 50%.
But thanks to the continued funding from Anya’s Wish we are getting ever closer to a cure.”
