Udhayvir Grewal’s review on maintenance strategies in GEP-NECs after platinum based chemotherapy
Udhayvir Grewal, Resident Physician at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport Academy medical centre, shared an article by Natalia Soledad Tissera on X:
“Excellent on maintenance strategies in GEP-NECs after initial platinum based chemotherapy.
Best to adopt a personalized approach, ideally involving a multidisciplinary tumor board, to consider cumulative toxicities, quality of life, patient preferences, and molecular testing results. We don’t know if platinum etop is the obvious first choice in all advanced GEP-NECs. The FOLFIRINEC trial will tell us!
Reasonable to consider 5-FU based regimens for LC-NECs, especially if NGS shows alterations more typical of adenocarcinoma counterpart.”
