Douglas Flora: The Journey of AI in Precision Oncology
Douglas Flora, President-Elect Association of Cancer Care Centers at Association of Cancer Care Centers, shared on LinkedIn:
“From Idea to Impact: The Journey of AI in Precision Oncology
‘The best way to predict the future is to create it.’ – Peter Drucker
I never got to build anything in my early career. Now? I can’t get enough of it. Two years ago, AI in Precision Oncology was just a concept – a way to curate peer-reviewed, practical insights on AI in cancer care, separating hype from reality and encouraging experts to “show their work.” I pitched the idea to a publisher, and the timing was right for both of us.
Fast forward:
- Global subscriptions from institutions and individuals
- Editorial Board members leading discussions at nearly every major congress
- Better manuscripts, bigger conversations
- Lifelong friendships made along the way
This week, I held our latest print edition in my hands. And while I love all things tech, there’s nothing quite like the tangible weight of months of work by a dedicated team operating at the highest level.
This isn’t about a single issue – it’s about the satisfaction of building something that didn’t exist before, finding a coalition of the willing, and watching it thrive.
Thank you Sophie Reisz, Kevin Davies, Nikhil Thaker, Oscar P., Tim Showalter, and so many more for helping make this happen.”
