Sung-Bae Kim and Hope Rugo: Oral Paclitaxel Non-Inferior to IV in Metastatic Breast Cancer

Sung-Bae Kim, Professor at Asan Medical Center, Institute for Innovative Cancer Research, shared on X:

“Our OPTIMAL trial is now in print in the July 2026, Annals of Oncology.
Oral paclitaxel (DHP107) is non-inferior to weekly IV paclitaxel in HER2− metastatic breast cancer – same efficacy, less neuropathy, no infusion.

Now MFDS-approved in Korea (weekly).”

Hope Rugo, Professor of Medicine and Director of the Breast Oncology Clinical Trials Program at the University of California at San Francisco, shared this post, adding:

“Great to see this in print! Congrats! Our US phase II OPERA trial also published this year with DHP107 showing non-inferiority to IV paclitaxel in mBC; complementary to Optimal.”

Title: OPERA: a phase II study of DHP107 (oral paclitaxel) versus intravenous paclitaxel in patients with HER2-negative recurrent or metastatic breast cancer
