Raúl Márquez: OPAL-C Phase 2 Results in Advanced Ovarian Cancer

Raúl Márquez, Head of Gynecologic Oncology Unit at MD Anderson Cancer Center Madrid, shared on LinkedIn:

“Pleased to share our new publication in Gynecologic Oncology from the OPAL-C phase 2 trial.

In newly diagnosed HRD advanced ovarian cancer, neoadjuvant niraparib did not outperform platinum-taxane chemotherapy: ORR was 31.6% vs 70.6%, respectively, and the trial was stopped early for futility. Results should be interpreted cautiously, given the limitations of the study.

An important reminder that biological rationale must ultimately be validated by clinical evidence.

Proud to have contributed to this international collaboration.”
