“Thank you to San Francisco Business Times’ Ron Leuty for reporting on a major milestone: Dispatch Bio has dosed its first patient in a Phase 1 clinical trial of DISP-10, a novel approach to treating solid tumors.
Dispatch Bio emerged from a Parker Institute retreat that brought together leading scientists across CAR-T, protein engineering, synthetic biology and tumor biology. The company aims to ‘paint’ tumor cells with a synthetic antigen, marking them for destruction by CAR-T cells.
As PICI CEO Karen Knudsen noted,
‘It’s not just funding science, but an end-to-end ecosystem to get drugs into patients.’
Dispatch CEO Sabah Oney also highlighted the impact of PICI’s support in bringing together established scientists to pursue novel, high-risk research.
