Nathan Pennell Urges Protection of NCI Funding to Safeguard Cancer Patients
Nathan Pennell, Director of the Cleveland Clinic Lung Cancer Medical Oncology Program and Vice Chair of Clinical Research for the Taussig Cancer Center, shared an article by Richard J Boxer, et al. on LinkedIn:
“Not beating around the bush here.
The NCI is a national treasure. If funding is diminished, it will be catastrophic to millions of patients and families who will experience the devastation of cancer in the coming years.
The past and present have prepared the NCI for the future. By increasing funding, the NCI will fulfill its promise and save countless lives, and by depleting funds, adults and children will experience egregious and unnecessary harms, morbidity, and mortality.”
