“Manchester scientists have identified a promising new way to target lung cancer caused by the notorious KRAS mutation – which until recently, had been considered ‘undruggable’.
Published in Cancer Discovery, the study focuses on the KRAS G13C mutation and shows that a new inhibitor, combined with chemotherapy, produced near-complete tumour responses in cancer models.
The research could help pave the way for a new wave of clinical trials and targeted treatments for people with KRAS-driven cancers.”
