Ioannis Zerdes: The Emerging Role of Tumour-Infiltrating Lymphocytes in Breast Radiotherapy

Ioannis Zerdes, Clinical Fellow in Medical Oncology and Associate Professor at Karolinska Comprehensive Cancer Center, shared on LinkedIn:

“Glad to share this new article from the International Immuno-Oncology Biomarker Working Group, to which I contributed as a co-author, in The Lancet Oncology.

Our work reviews the emerging role of tumour-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) in breast radiotherapy and discusses how TILs could be integrated into future radiation oncology trials and, ultimately, clinical practice.

Many thanks to the entire team for the excellent leadership, collaboration, and collective effort behind this work.

This publication is part of a series of 3 papers from the WG, published in the same issue, alongside 2 studies featuring digital pathology and AI-based approaches for TIL assessment in breast cancer, providing an exciting step toward more standardized and clinically applicable immune biomarkers in breast cancer.”
