Evandro de Azambuja, President of the Belgian Society for Medical Oncology (BSMO), shared on LinkedIn:
“Modest improvement in PFS with pembro + chemo for pts with HR+ PD-L1 + MBC”
ESMO added:
“The phase III KEYNOTE-B49 trial found a modest progression-free survival benefit from adding pembrolizumab to chemotherapy in patients with PD-L1-positive, HR-positive, HER2-negative advanced breast cancer whose disease progressed after endocrine therapy.
Study enrolment was challenging because PD-L1 expression was relatively uncommon, reducing the trial size and its statistical power to determine an overall survival benefit.”
