Ed Esplin: New Biomarker for AR-Targeted Therapy in Prostate Cancer

Ed Esplin, SVP of Medical Affairs at Biocartis, shared on LinkedIn:

”Longitudinal outcome analysis indicates that prostate cancer patients carrying African-specific HOXB13 stop-loss germline variant X285K generally show favorable responses to therapies targeting the androgenreceptor (AR).

X285K germline variant could be another biomarker forecasting a generally better outcome to AR-targeted therapies in metastatic Hormone Sensitive Prostate Cancer/ mHSPC.

One more reason for universal germline genetictesting in all patients with prostate cancer.”
