“A new approach to childhood sarcoma starts here. On 15-16 September 2026, the THEODORA consortium met in Paris for its kick – off meeting, bringing together leading European partners to advance innovative immunotherapies for paediatric, adolescent and young adult sarcomas.
Starting with Ewingsarcoma, the project will develop two innovative approaches: TCR-T cell therapy and an ‘off – the – shelf’ mRNA vaccine, with clinical trials expected to start in 2028.
PROMs (Patient – Reported Outcome Measures) are an essential part of this clinical trial, bringing the perspectives of children and families into the evaluation of treatment. By collecting real – time feedback on qualityoflife, symptoms and overall well – being alongside clinical outcomes, the project aims to support a more patient – centred approach to paediatric oncology.
CCI – Europe will work alongside the consortium to bring patient and family experiences into the clinicalprotocols, support the implementation of PROMs, and help share what the project learns with the wider childhood cancer community.
