Brian Slomovitz, Director of Gynecologic Oncology at Mount Sinai Medical Center, shared on LinkedIn:
“I had the privilege to present Keynote C93, a study of chemotherapy vs immunotherapy for patients with metastatic endometrial cancer at ESMO 2026 in Madrid (42,000 people attend). Sandro Pignata and I (representing ENGOT and The GOG Foundation, Inc) co-led this trial.
The study provides a new treatment option for approximately 30% of patients with advanced or recurrent endometrial cancer using a chemotherapy-free treatment. Patients on the study lives significantly longer without progression. They also had a meaningful improvement in quality of life and less serious side effects when compared to chemo.
The study did not compare this new option to the current standard of care (chemotherapy combined with immunotherapy) so we have to be careful when we discuss with our patients…but it is definitely a new chemotherapy-free option with a better quality of life.
Simultaneously published in Lancet!
I am super excited to be apart of this practice trial. Definitely one of the highlights of my career!”
