“Today, our I3LUNG study was published in Nature Medicine. Nature Portfolio
In 2,396 patients with NSCLC, we evaluated real-world multimodal AI models for immunotherapy outcome prediction.
An important result was the clinical usability study:
Both lung cancer experts and nonexpert physicians improved their predictions when supported by an explainable AI (XAI) tool.
This work was possible thanks to a large international collaboration across multiple institutions, combining clinical, imaging, pathology, genomic and AI expertise.
