Aleix Prat, Director of the Clínic Barcelona Comprehensive Cancer Center, shared on LinkedIn:
“Can ribociclib and palbociclib have different clinical effects in HER2-enriched HR+/HER2− metastatic breast cancer?
This question emerged from years of translational research.

These findings led to HARMONIA (SOLTI-2101/AFT-58), an international randomized phase III trial.
Over 400 patients were prospectively screened using gene expression profiling, with 49 patients randomized. Despite early closure due to recruitment challenges, the study generated valuable clinical and translational data.
Dr. Tomás Pascual Martínez will present the results at SABCS 2026 (Poster Spotlight PS10-4).
A remarkable collaborative effort and a great example of translating biological discoveries into clinical trials!
Huge thanks to the SOLTI cancer research, Alliance Foundation Trials, LLC, and international HARMONIA teams, and especially to the participating patients.”
To which Tomás Pascual Martínez, Head Breast and Gynecologic Cancer Section, Medical Oncology Deparment at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, added:
“So excited to present HARMONIA (SOLTI-2101/AFT-58) at SABCS2026!
This trial started with a simple biological question and years of translational work led by Aleix Prat and the team. Running a biomarker-selected phase III across continents wasn’t easy, and we learned a lot along the way. The data will keep shaping how we think about CDK4/6i.
A big thank you to the patients, the investigators and the SOLTI cancer research and Alliance Foundation Trials, LLC teams.
If you’re at SABCS, come by Poster Spotlight PS10-4. Happy to discuss!”
