Introducing YOGI-EU: OncoDaily Launches a European Community for Young GI Oncologists

OncoDaily is proud to launch YOGI-EU — Young Oncologists in GI, Europe, a new pan-European initiative bringing together early-career oncologists working in gastrointestinal oncology.

YOGI-EU is supported by OncoDaily and led by Dr. Annalice Gandini, GI Medical Oncologist at European Hospital Georges Pompidou / Centre de Recherche des Cordeliers, Paris. The idea is simple: connect people, unite efforts, and build something useful for the GI oncology community across Europe.

YOGI-EU is a space for young GI oncologists to come together, exchange ideas, work on projects, share knowledge, and support each other in a field that is moving fast and needs strong collaboration.

Why YOGI-EU?

Gastrointestinal cancers remain one of the major challenges in oncology across Europe. Progress in this field depends not only on new treatments and research, but also on people working together across borders, centers, and systems.

YOGI-EU was created to help bring that energy together.

The initiative aims to connect young GI oncologists across Europe and create a practical platform for collaboration, education, scientific exchange, media visibility, and shared projects. It is about building bridges, supporting each other, and giving young oncologists a stronger voice in the GI oncology community.

“We aim to facilitate collaboration and scientific exchange among early-career GI oncologists across Europe, promoting opportunities for networking, education, and joint research initiatives within an international academic framework.”
— Dr. Annalice Gandini, Paris, France

Coming Together for GI Oncology

YOGI-EU is built around collaboration. Members will be able to join educational activities, contribute to research and editorial projects, participate in interviews and video formats, share congress highlights, and help create regular GI oncology updates for the wider community.

The goal is not to create another formal structure. The goal is to bring people together and turn ideas into action.

Through YOGI-EU, young oncologists can connect with colleagues from different European countries, learn from each other, and work together on projects that matter for patients, science, and the future of gastrointestinal oncology.

GI News Is Live: Episode 1 from YOGI-EU

The launch of YOGI-EU begins with action: the first episode of GI News is already live.

GI News is a new monthly video series from YOGI-EU and OncoDaily, hosted by Dr. Annalice Gandini. Each episode will bring short, focused updates on the most relevant developments in gastrointestinal oncology.

In Episode 1, Dr. Gandini highlights key GI oncology news from April, including updates in pancreatic cancer, small bowel adenocarcinoma, colorectal cancer, MSI/dMMR colorectal cancer, and the updated ESMO guidelines for metastatic colorectal cancer.

The format is simple: a few minutes, important updates, clear takeaways, and a direct connection to what is moving in GI oncology.

This is the first episode, but it is not a one-time project. GI News will continue as a regular YOGI-EU series, bringing the community timely updates and helping young oncologists stay connected with the latest developments in the field.

YOGI-EU and OncoDaily: Building a GI Oncology Community

YOGI-EU is part of OncoDaily’s broader mission to support oncology education, visibility, collaboration, and scientific exchange worldwide. Through OncoDaily’s platforms, YOGI-EU will bring together voices from across Europe and create space for young GI oncologists to contribute to conversations that matter. From GI News to collaborative projects, from congress updates to educational content, YOGI-EU is starting with one clear message: we can do more when we work together.

Connect. Collaborate. Share. Build.

This is YOGI-EU. This is GI oncology coming together.

Stay tuned — the first episode of GI News is live, and more is coming.
