Global Colon Cancer Association (GCCA), shared on LinkedIn:
“Announcing the GCCA Member Advisory Committee for our Global Ostomy Program.
The committee is made up of GCCA member organisations already delivering ostomy work in their own countries, with representation from every World Health Organization region.
The structure is deliberate. Roughly 40% of ostomies worldwide follow colorectal cancer, which means ostomy is affecting the GCCA community.
The committee’s mandate is to map what is already being delivered across regions, identify where the real gaps sit, and ensure the perspectives and priorities of people living with ostomy inform the program’s resources and advocacy efforts.
GCCA provides the coalition, the funding, and the advocacy platform. Members decide the priorities.Since 2023 GCCA has funded ostomy projects in seven countries through our CRC Health Equity Grants program. This committee consolidates that work and gives it direction.
The GCCA Global Ostomy Program launches opens on Saturday 3 October, Ostomy Awareness Day.”
