Aakash Desai: Our team at UAB O’Neal Cancer Center received the “Improving the Precision Oncology Care Pathway” grant
Aakash Desai, Associate Director of Phase 1 and Precision Oncology Program at UAB O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Thrilled to share that our team at UAB O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center has been selected as a recipient of the Association of Cancer Care Centers and Eli Lilly and Company’s ‘Improving the Precision Oncology Care Pathway’ grant!
Our project, OPTIMATCH, aims to enhance precision oncology through access to a community-academic partnered multidisciplinary tumor board (MDTB) and AI-driven trial matching and approach to reduce patient loss along the care pathway.
By leveraging AI to analyze trial criteria and patient profiles, we can better align patients with the most appropriate targeted therapies – ensuring equity, efficiency, and impact in clinical trial enrollment.
Excited to collaborate with our incredible team and partners to drive innovation in precision oncology!
