Elisabetta Bonzano: The Gap Between Patients Desire and Physicians Initiative on Brain Imaging
Elisabetta Bonzano, Medical Director and Radiation Oncologist at IRCCS San Matteo Polyclinic Foundation, shared a post on X: about recent article by Leonor Matos and colleagues:
“Brain imaging screening in metastatic breast cancer: patients’ and physicians’ perspectives
Most physicians request BIS, in selected cases of MBC, and not as part of routine.
The majority of patients would like to perform BIS, despite the uncertain benefit.
The discrepancy between patients desire and physicians initiative stands out.
International cross-sectional online survey for patients and physicians
This international survey underline the willingness of patients to know more about the prospects of BM development, in contrast to the lack of routine discussion of this topic by physicians.”
