Kai-Cheng Hsu: PECC 2025 – AI for Health Equity Across Asia-Pacific
Kai-Cheng Hsu, President and Chief Medical Officer of Acer Medical, shared on LinkedIn:
“PECC 2025 – AI for Health Equity Across Asia-Pacific
At the 32nd PECC General Meeting in Seoul, I shared why AI in healthcare must not remain only in advanced hospitals – it needs to reach communities and long-term care facilities to truly improve health equity.
At Acer Medical, we have developed AI-based medical devices now implemented in 500 hospitals. These include screening tools for diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and osteoporosis, making preventive care more accessible and affordable.
We are also applying generative AI through aiMed, which converts voice into structured medical records, easing documentation burdens so doctors can spend more time with patients.
With aiMood and aiGait, we address dementia and aging-related challenges, helping caregivers monitor emotions, behavior, and fall risk.
I believe the Asia-Pacific can become a model for AI healthcare adoption by harmonizing regulations, sharing data, and building human capital across borders.
AI is not just about technology – it’s about creating healthier, fairer, and more connected communities.”
