Applications are open for the 2027 International Collaboration for Research Methods Development in Oncology (CReDO) Workshop, organised by the National Cancer Grid at Tata Memorial Centre.
The application deadline has been extended to 15 August 2026, giving oncology researchers additional time to submit their research concepts through the official online portal.
From a Research Concept to a Complete Protocol
CReDO is designed for researchers who want to develop an oncology research idea into a structured clinical research project.
Selected participants will work on the clinical research concept submitted with their application and develop it into a complete clinical trial protocol during the workshop.
Applicants must therefore be ready with a clear research idea that can be expanded into a full research project.
Who Can Apply?
Applications are open to professionals who are trained or currently in training in:
- Medical oncology
- Surgical oncology
- Radiation oncology
- Specialties allied to oncology
Applicants must have an interest in clinical research and demonstrate a commitment to continuing oncology research after the workshop.
They must also be fluent in written and spoken English, have good computer skills, access to a laptop and reliable internet connection, and institutional support to carry out the proposed research project.
Preference will be given to early- and mid-career researchers from academic institutions who demonstrate a strong commitment to oncology research.
A Competitive Selection Process
Participants will be selected through a competitive online application process. Each application will be independently reviewed by two experts.
Applications will be assessed based on:
- Applicant details
- A brief outline of the research idea
- The applicant’s statement of purpose
- A supervisor’s letter of support
The online portal is the only accepted method of application. Applications submitted in other formats will not be considered.
There is no fee at the time of application.
Important Dates for Applicants
Online applications opened on 15 May 2026 and will close on 15 August 2026.
The list of selected participants will be announced on 15 September 2026. Selected applicants must confirm their participation and complete the fee payment by 30 September 2026.
Pre-workshop webinars will take place between December 2026 and February 2027, followed by the main workshop from 1–6 March 2027.
Workshop Fees and Financial Support
The workshop fee is USD 2,500 or INR 200,000 per participant.
The fee covers accommodation, local transportation, meals at the workshop venue and access to workshop resources. It does not cover return travel between the participant’s city of residence and Mumbai.
Participants who are not supported by their institutions will be considered for a 90% fee subsidy through grants provided by supporting organisations.
Only applicants selected for the workshop and confirming their participation will be required to pay the workshop fee.
Full Participation Is Required
Selected participants must attend all workshop sessions and complete the required daily assignments. Certificates of completion will be issued only to participants who fulfil these requirements.
Applicants must also provide an undertaking, supported by their supervisor, confirming that they will be on official leave from their department during the workshop.
Participants are encouraged to prepare a background literature review and, where available, bring their institution’s protocol and informed consent templates.

Researchers interested in developing a clinical research concept into a complete oncology trial protocol are encouraged to apply before 15 August 2026.
After the final submission, applicants will receive a confirmation email at their registered email address.
The CReDO 2027 Workshop will be held from 1–6 March 2027 under the National Cancer Grid at Tata Memorial Centre.
