Uncovering Hidden Drivers of Chemotherapy Resistance in Ovarian Cancer – One Biosciences

One Biosciences shared on LinkedIn:

“What if we could identify chemotherapy resistance before treatment even begins?

Ovarian cancer remains one of the most aggressive and difficult-to-treat cancers. New research from One Biosciences, CNRS, Institut Curie and Sorbonne Université, published in Cancer Discovery, reveals that a tumor’s cellular composition shapes its response to chemotherapy, and that single-cell profiling can map it at diagnosis.

In this study, we demonstrate that chemotherapy resistance cannot be explained by DNA mutations alone. The functional and epigenetic states of tumor cells play a critical role, and the tumor’s initial cellular profile can help predict patient outcomes

The implications are significant: identifying resistance-associated cellular states before treatment could pave the way for more personalized therapeutic strategies.

At One Biosciences, our ambition is to translate these insights into clinical impact. Through our single-cell profiling platform, we are working to uncover resistance mechanisms and identify new therapeutic targets across multiple cancer types: bringing single-cell biology out of the research lab and into clinical care.

We’re also excited to present this research at ESMO in a few days, sharing our findings with the global oncology community!
