This work provides important insights into the delivery of colorectal cancer care in Bhutan, highlighting key gaps including workforce shortages, centralisation of cancer services, medicine availability and geographic barriers to care.

Importantly, it translates these findings into priorities for health-system strengthening that may also be relevant to other smaller and resource-constrained healthcare systems.

Congratulations to Chuan De and the entire team!

Thankful to our partners in Bhutan (Prabhat Pradhan, Sonam Yoezer, Tashi Dendup Wangdi) and always a joy to work together with our surgical colleagues under the leadership of Mr. Chong Tsung Wen and Mr. Foo Fung Joon, Sengkang General Hospital, Singapore General Hospital.
