“Lineage Switch” in Acute Leukemia After Targeted Immunotherapy – NCI Center for Cancer Research

“When treating acute leukemia with targeted immunotherapy, researchers have observed a problem called ‘lineage switch’ (LS), where the type of leukemia can change from one form to another, making the disease harder to treat and leading to poor outcomes for patients.
NIH researchers from the Center for Cancer Research collaborated internationally to collect case studies where LS occurred after different types of antigen-targeted therapies. By understanding these changes better, scientists hope they can find ways to improve treatment and outcomes for such patients.
