Erman Akkus: Our study on Testicular Germ Cell Tumor Survivors
Erman Akkus, Medical Oncology Fellow at Ankara University, shared a post on X about a paper he co-authored with colleagues published in Future Oncology:
“Our study on Testicular Germ Cell Tumor Survivors has been published!
We define, for the first time as far as we know, Hepatic Steatosis (Fatty Liver) as a long-term complication among TGCT survivors!
- 57% develop hepatic steatosis
- The prevelance in same-age healthy Turkish youngs is around 20-25%!
- 77% of those had persistant steatosis
- Baseline BMI, high risk.”
