The new EU HTA regulation officially came into force for new cancer medicines – SIOPE

SIOP Europe, the European Society for Paediatric Oncology (SIOPE) shared a post on LinkedIn:

“On 12 January 2025, the new EU Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Regulation officially came into force for new cancer medicines and Advanced Therapeutic Medical Products!

This marks a significant development in promoting access to innovative medicines across the EU. The framework aims to:

Streamline assessments of innovative medicines.
Accelerate decision-making on pricing and reimbursement.
Ensure consultation with clinicians and patients.

At SIOP Europe, the European Society for Paediatric Oncology (SIOPE), we are committed to ensuring that this new regulation properly addresses the needs of children and adolescents with cancer.

We’ll continue working closely with the European Commission and our community to advocate for their unique needs.
