Tunji Alausa: Thrilled to open the Federal Ministry of Health, Nigeria’s 2024 Federal Health Sector Retreat
Tunji Alausa, Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Federal Republic of Nigeria, shared a post on X:
“I was thrilled to open the Federal Ministry of Health, Nigeria’s 2024 Federal Health Sector Retreat, yesterday in Bauchi State.
This retreat serves as a unique and critical platform for us to reflect on our progress, analyse challenges and take stock of our achievements so far.
At the retreat, we’ll review our 4 Pillar Agenda — focused on enhancing health governance, improving population health outcomes, promoting health industrialization, and strengthening health security. It’s essential that we assess what we’ve accomplished in order to identify the next steps needed to meet our ambitious targets.
I’m happy to note that in the past year, we’ve made significant strides, from expanding health insurance enrollment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure.
However, there’s much more to be done.
Together, we need to fully operationalize our Sector Wide Approach (SWAp) and accelerate our efforts to reach our goal of reaching 50 million insured individuals.
I extend my gratitude to H.E Senator Bala A. Mohammed Governor of Bauchi State Government
for your generous hospitality in hosting us.
I’m confident that, through our collective efforts, and discussions held at this meeting that we can make a lasting impact on the health of Nigerians. Let’s make these discussions productive!”
