“New JCO Study Shows Better Patient Outcomes with Annual Breast Cancer Screening.

A recent study in JCO provides evidence that annual mammograms lead to lower rates of late-stage breast cancer diagnosis and improved overall survival regardless of age, race, or menopausal status.

In a study of 8,145 patients, those who received annual mammograms saw a marked reduction in late-stage cancers compared to those screened every two years or less frequently. These findings support the current recommendations from the ACR for annual screening for those 40 and older.”
