What a weekend at ESMO26 – our strongest showing to date.
AstraZeneca’s research was featured in four Presidential Symposia, with Phase III data across gastric, lung and bladder cancers. These findings reinforce the progress being made toward helping patients live longer, reducing the risk of recurrence and expanding treatment options.
Here are the Phase III highlights:
Lung Cancer
– SAFFRON: In MET-driven EGFR-mutated lung cancer after progression, the study combination reduced risk of progression or death (PFS) by 45% and risk of death (OS) by 32%. Median overall survival was extended by nearly five months.
DeLLphi-305: In first-line extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC), combination therapy reduced the risk of death by 58%, with median overall survival of nearly two years.
Gastric Cancer
– CLARITY-Gastric01: The first anti-CLDN18.2 antibody drug conjugate (ADC) to demonstrate an overall survival benefit in a global Phase III trial in 2nd and later-line CLDN18.2-positive advanced gastric cancers. In the trial, the study treatment reduced the risk of death by 42%.
Bladder Cancer (MIBC)
– VOLGA: Perioperative immunotherapy combined with a neoadjuvant ADC reduced the risk of recurrence by 49% and the risk of death by 42%. More than three in four patients were alive at two years.
Thank you to the teams and investigators whose commitment made this work possible.
