BeOne, BeOne Care Foundation and The Max Foundation Renew BRUKINSA Access Partnership for CLL in LMICs

BeOne Medicines, the BeOne Care Foundation, and The Max Foundation have renewed their partnership through 2028 to expand access to BRUKINSA (zanubrutinib) for people with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) in low- and middle-income countries.

The renewed collaboration is projected to support approximately 1,000 patients cumulatively by 2028, building on a partnership launched in 2023. To date, the program has provided access to BRUKINSA for more than 300 patients with CLL in Armenia, Ethiopia, and Nepal, exceeding its original scope by approximately 150 patients.

The collaboration combines The Max Foundation’s experience in implementing oncology access programs with donated BRUKINSA from BeOne Medicines. The BeOne Care Foundation will also provide a $1 million grant to support patient care, physician engagement, and operational infrastructure over the next two years.

Pat Garcia-Gonzalez, Co-Founder and CEO of The Max Foundation, highlighted the impact of the partnership to date, saying:

“Working hand in hand with our partner physicians in Armenia, Ethiopia and Nepal we have been able to help hundreds of patients access treatment.”

She added that the organizations aim to extend access to additional countries, patients, and families.

John V. Oyler, Co-Founder, Chairman, and CEO of BeOne Medicines, said the renewed partnership reflects the company’s commitment to reducing geographic disparities in cancer care:

“Our goal has been to ensure that where a person lives does not determine whether they can access high-quality cancer care.”

Expansion to Additional Countries

Under the renewed agreement, the program will continue supporting patients in Armenia, Ethiopia, and Nepal, with potential expansion to Côte d’Ivoire, Malawi, Mongolia, Mozambique, Togo, and Zambia, depending on operational readiness and evolving access priorities. This would provide patients in these countries with access through the program for the first time.

Patients enrolled in the program will also be able to continue receiving treatment beyond the partnership’s 2028 term for as long as medically necessary, supporting continuity of care.

About the Partnership

The original collaboration between The Max Foundation, BeOne, and the BeOne Foundation was announced in May 2023 to provide BRUKINSA to adult patients with CLL in low- and middle-income countries. The initial agreement combined The Max Foundation’s infrastructure and access model with donated medicine and foundation funding.
