The Oncologic Audiology Fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center is a one-year, full-time Doctor of Audiology (AuD) 4th-year fellowship designed to provide specialized clinical training in oncology-focused audiology. Fellows gain experience in patient care, interdisciplinary collaboration, clinical research, and didactic education, preparing them for certification through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and a career in audiologic oncology.
Eligibility Criteria:

Must be a 4th-year Doctor of Audiology (AuD) student eligible to complete a pre-doctoral clinical fellowship.

Must qualify for an Intern in Audiology License from the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation (TDLR).

Funding Details:

Duration: 1 year (full-time contractual commitment).

Ototoxicity monitoring

Vestibular and balance function testing (VNG, rotary chair, ECochG, VEMP)

Comprehensive audiologic evaluations for adult and pediatric patients

Electrophysiological assessments (OAEs, ABR audiometry)

Aural rehabilitation and hearing aid fitting

- Fellows will also complete a clinical research or educational project presented in a peer-reviewed forum.

Program includes opportunities for multidisciplinary observation in medical oncology, radiation oncology, and head and neck surgery.
