The ASCO Merit Awards recognize outstanding research abstracts submitted by trainees and students for presentation at ASCO Meetings. These awards highlight scientific excellence and support early-career researchers in oncology through financial assistance and professional recognition.
Eligibility Criteria:

Applicant must be the First Author of the submitted abstract and agree to present it if selected.

Must be enrolled in a fellowship, residency, advanced degree, or medical/doctoral program at the time of abstract submission.

Must submit a letter of verification from a program director or faculty advisor confirming current enrollment.

Must include a curriculum vitae (CV) with the application.
Funding Details:

Merit Award recipients receive 1,000 USD, complimentary meeting registration, and access to reserved hotel booking.

Awardees will present their research during the ASCO Meeting.
Special Merit Awards:

Bradley Stuart Beller Endowed Merit Award – 2,000 USD (highest-ranking abstract overall).

Allen S. Lichter, MD Endowed Merit Award – 1,000 USD (second highest-ranking abstract overall).

Brigid Leventhal Special Merit Award – 1,000 USD (top pediatric oncology abstract).

Pain and Symptom Management Special Merit Award – 1,000 USD (top abstract in symptom management research).

James B. Nachman Endowed ASCO Junior Faculty Award in Pediatric Oncology – 3,000 USD plus complimentary registration and housing (highest-ranking pediatric oncology abstract by junior faculty within 7 years of first appointment).
