Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre – Clinical & Research Fellowship

A 1–2 year clinical and research fellowship based at the University of Calgary and the Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre, focused on thoracic (lung) or combined lung and breast oncology, with protected research time and late-phase clinical trial exposure.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Recently completed (≤5 years) or near-completion of clinical training in Medical Oncology.

  • Prior Internal Medicine training completed.

  • Demonstrated interest in thoracic and/or breast malignancies and research (health services, outcomes, or translational).

  • Commitment to developing as a future leader in medical oncology.

Funding Details:

  • New position with funding available for multiple fellowships (current posting lists 1 vacancy).

  • 1–2 year term with protected research time (e.g., economic impact of radon- and wildfire-induced lung cancer) and opportunities to serve as sub-investigator on late-phase clinical trials.

  • Manageable clinical load (≤4 clinics/week; minimal on-call).

  • Access to large institutional databases and collaborations with the Arnie Charbonneau Cancer Institute.
