Addressing Barriers to Healthcare Transitions for Survivors of Childhood and Adolescent Cancers

NCI invites R01 applications to develop and test multi-level interventions that improve the transition from pediatric to adult care for childhood and adolescent cancer survivors. Projects should enhance risk-based surveillance, care coordination, and long-term engagement, address health disparities, and emphasize scalability and sustainability in real-world settings (STAR Reauthorization Act–aligned). Clinical trial optional.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible: higher-education institutions; nonprofits; for-profits (including small businesses); government and tribal entities; independent school districts; public/tribal housing authorities; faith-/community-based and regional organizations.

  • Not eligible to apply: non-U.S. (foreign) organizations and non-U.S. components of U.S. organizations.

  • Foreign components are allowed.

  • PD/PI must have an eRA Commons ID; standard NIH registrations required (SAM, UEI, Grants.gov, eRA Commons).

Funding Details

  • Mechanism: R01.

  • Clinical trial: optional.

  • Budget: up to 499,000 USD in direct costs per year.

  • Project period: up to 5 years.
