UC Irvine–John Wayne Complex General Surgical Oncology Fellowship

Two-year, ACGME-accredited CGSO fellowship combining comprehensive multidisciplinary training with high-volume complex oncology surgery (HIPEC/cytoreduction, sarcoma, advanced laparoscopic/robotic foregut and HPB). Curriculum includes robust non-surgical rotations (medical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, interventional GI), Kaiser Permanente rotation, five months’ protected research, weekly didactics, tumor boards, and journal clubs.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Completion of an ACGME-approved general surgery residency.

  • American Board of Surgery board-eligible or board-certified.

  • Application via ERAS; selection through NRMP.

  • Start date August 1 following residency completion.

  • Must meet UC Irvine GME appointment requirements (see UCI GME page).
