Builds a robust undergraduate pipeline into cancer research through mentored summer internships with structured training and career development.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • U.S.-based 501(c)(3) academic/research institution with accredited programs and an active cancer research enterprise; one application per institution.

  • PI must be full-time faculty (typically Associate/Full Professor) with evidence of mentoring capacity and program leadership.

  • Tobacco-industry funding exclusion applies to PI and mentors.

  • Subcontracts allowed within the U.S. and its territories only.

Funding Details:

  • USD 22,000–44,000 per year for up to 3 years.

  • Supports 4–8 interns per year (USD 5,000 per intern) plus a small program allowance.

  • No indirect costs.

Deadline:

  • April 1 and October 15 (11:59 p.m. ET); rolls to next business day if on a weekend/holiday.
