The Cancer Prevention Fellowship Program (CPFP) at the National Cancer Institute provides a structured, multidisciplinary postdoctoral experience in cancer prevention research—from basic discovery through implementation and policy translation. Since 1987, CPFP has trained scientists in epidemiology, biostatistics, clinical prevention, and data sciences, equipping fellows to launch independent programs that reduce cancer burden in the U.S.
Eligibility Criteria:

Hold a doctoral degree (PhD, MD, DrPH, ScD, or equivalent)

Demonstrate interest or background in cancer prevention research

U.S. citizenship or permanent residency preferred (international applicants considered)

Commitment to full-time fellowship for up to four years
