
AACR Immuno-oncology Research Fellowship
The AACR Immuno-oncology Research Fellowship supports postdoctoral or clinical research fellows in conducting cutting-edge basic, translational, clinical, or population sciences investigations directly applicable to immuno-oncology. Awardees receive two years of support—including salary, benefits, and research expenses—to establish a successful independent research career in this rapidly evolving field.
Eligibility Criteria:

Hold a doctoral degree (PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent) conferred on or after November 1, 2020.

At the start of the grant term (November 1, 2025), be appointed as a postdoctoral fellow, clinical research fellow, or equivalent in a mentored research position at an academic, medical, or research institution anywhere in the world.

Dedicate at least 50% effort to the proposed immuno-oncology research project.

Have mentorship confirmed by a letter from an AACR-member mentor (or co-mentors) and an institutional signing official.

Be an AACR member in good standing by the application deadline (members in eligible low-capacity countries may qualify for dues waiver).

Not hold a current AACR grant that overlaps in term, nor be employed by a U.S. government entity or for-profit industry.
Funding Details:

Total award: 130,000 USD over two years.

Minimum 50% of funds for fellow’s salary and benefits.

Up to 50% may be used for research-related expenses (supplies, equipment, publication charges).

Up to $2,000 for travel/registration to the Annual Grantee Recognition Event; up to 1,500 USD for the Grantee Summit.

Equipment purchases over 10% of budget require detailed justification.
