
DoD FY25 Melanoma Survivorship Research Award
Supports innovative research to improve long-term health, quality of life, and well-being of melanoma survivors, their families, and caregivers—encompassing clinical trials, behavioral interventions, and survivorship strategies tailored to the unique needs of this population .
Eligibility Criteria:

Applicant Organizations: Extramural or intramural U.S. or foreign academic institutions, biotech companies, foundations, DOD laboratories, and other public or private entities (for-profit and non-profit).

Principal Investigator: Independent investigator at any career level; mentored positions (postdocs, fellows) are not eligible as PI.

Melanoma Consumer Collaboration: Must include ≥1 melanoma survivor, family member, caregiver, or melanoma-community organization as active research partner.

Research Scope: Broad range of survivorship research (physical, psychological, social, economic effects); clinical trials allowed; purely animal studies or survival-only endpoints without quality-of-life considerations are not responsive.

Cost Sharing: Not required.
Funding Details:

Total Pool: ≈ 2.03 USD million to fund ~2 awards

Award Cap: Up to 1.015 USD million total costs (direct + indirect) per award over a maximum 3-year period; funds expire September 30, 2031; awards made no later than September 30, 2026.

Allowable Costs: Personnel, supplies, equipment, multi-institutional travel, one scientific meeting per year, participant compensation, data/resource sharing; indirect costs per negotiated rate; no tuition.
